Inside, Hare Meadow has been thoughtfully restored, where original period features sit beautifully alongside modern amenities. The heart of the house is an open‑plan living and dining space, centred around a welcoming fireplace and a large oak dining table that invites lingering meals, shared conversations, and slow evenings together. Light moves easily through the room, creating a space that feels both generous and comfortable, whether you are gathering after a day outdoors or enjoying a quiet evening at home.

The home offers three luxurious bedrooms, each with its own beautifully appointed ensuite bathroom, finished to a high standard for comfort and privacy. An additional fourth bedroom leads into the third ensuite, providing flexible accommodation for families or small groups while retaining a sense of space and ease.

Throughout the house, careful attention has been given to detail, creating a welcoming balance of character, quality, and quiet luxury.

Where walking, art, and fine dining meet.

Staying at Hare Meadow is like stepping into a living landscape painting, where the enduring beauty and rural character that inspired artists across centuries remain much as they knew them. Views from the house extend across the valley to the scene depicted in Constable's painting The Old Lecture House. The former home of Sir Alfred Munnings, open to the public, sits at the foot of the lane and houses a gallery of his works, including paintings on loan from King Charles. Nearby, Flatford Mill and the river Stour - where Constable painted The Hay Wain - remain just as evocative today.

For exceptional dining, Milsoms and the renowned Talbooth offer excellent dining, spa treatments, and an outdoor pool, while refined dining is a short walk at the Sun Inn in Dedham. For a change of pace London is just an hour away by train while Cambridge and Norwich can also be reached by rail, offering rich history, culture and architecture to explore.

Miles of public footpaths connecting field, river, and village

From the lane, a vast network of walking tracks and public rights of way opens out into the surrounding countryside, offering endless routes through fields, riverside paths, and laneways. Along the way, walks can take in village pubs, cafés, churches, manor houses, and farm shops.

A 10 minute walk through the fields, across a stream and through kissing gates leads into Dedham village, emerging behind the church at the cricket ground, before continuing to the village's grocery shops, cafés and local amenities.
